Benin is located in West Africa. Neighboring countries are Togo, Burkina Faso, Niger and Nigeria.

Language: French. One can get along with French without any problems, with English also somewhat, especially in Cotonou, the secret capital and its hotels. However, all other European languages are useless.

Climate: Tropical climate in the south very humid with two rainy seasons in the south (March – mid-July and mid-September – mid-November) and one rainy season in the north (May – September); average temperatures in the north 24-33° C in the south 26-29° C.
