Jordan
Aktuelle ReiseinformationenJordan is a country in the Middle East. It is almost completely surrounded by land areas (except for a narrow bay of the Red Sea and the eastern side of the Dead Sea). Adjacent countries are Israel and Palestine to the west, Syria to the north, Iraq to the northeast, and Saudi Arabia to the southeast.
Jordan can be divided into three major landscapes from west to east:
Jordan Rift Valley with the Dead Sea.
East Bank mountains – this mountain range reaches up to 1,754 m high; the largest cities of Amman, Zarqa and Irbid are located here.

Climate: Most of the year it is warm to hot. Only in the months of January to March it can snow in the higher areas (e.g. Amman). In the winter months (around November to March), moreover, one has to reckon with sometimes heavy rainfall, which, however, has been largely absent in recent years, with serious consequences for the country’s already difficult water supply. The rest of the year it is dry.
