The archipelago, consisting of 83 islands or groups of islands, was called the New Hebrides until 1980. The largest islands are Espiritu Santo and Malekula. Efate is probably the most important island with the capital (and airport) Port Vila. The entire archipelago is divided into six provinces.
The autonomous island state has more than 240,00 inhabitants who can enjoy such an atmosphere every day. Therefore, there is still 1 tourist per 4 inhabitants per year, an impressive number. There are also valid reasons why you should visit Vanuatu.

Climate: Vanuatu’s climate ranges from tropical in the north to subtropical in the south. The drier period between May to October is usually the best time to travel.
