Hiking day of Touralpin Touristik on August 1, 2015 from Kirchberg to Westendorf
We meet at 9:00 am in Kirchberg at the Gaisberg lift, weather permitting.
The ascent with the Gaisberg chairlift lets us overcome a few meters of altitude in a few minutes.
But then it’s uphill on foot; we slowly walk about 500 meters in altitude to the Gaisberg summit, which is 1,700m high, and work up a good sweat.
At the summit, the effort is quickly forgotten and we enjoy the magnificent view.
We hike along the ridge on beautiful trails to the Wagalm, where we stop thirsty and hungry, and fortify ourselves with good food and friendly service.
With pleasant temperatures, the sun hiding behind the clouds, we hike another 2 hours to the mountain station of the Alpenrosenbahn above Westendorf.
Once there, we are glad that we can overcome the long way down to the valley with the help of the cable car.
The cab we ordered is already waiting for us and will take us back to Kirchberg.
Relaxed by the many impressions of the mountains and nature, pleasantly tired from the physical performance, and fulfilled by the nice conversations with each other, we go home.
