Ancient Abyssinia, nowadays better known by its modern name Ethiopia, is not for nothing considered the land of the 13 Months of Sunshine.
After all, the sun almost always shines in the East African country. Although Ethiopia also does not have more days per year, a different calendar than in most other countries in the world, gives the state an extra month. Time enough, then, to explore the special features of this amazingly green part of Africa. Time, which is also urgently needed, as there is so much to see: In Gondar, the baroque castle is to be admired, in Axum it is the stelae fields and the cathedral and also the scenically impressive blue Nile is at the top of the agenda of an Ethiopia trip.
Best time to travel: Due to the rainy season, October to May are the most favorable travel months, around the turn of the year it is most pleasant.
