Guadeloupe is an overseas department and region of France, consisting of a group of nine islands of the Lesser Antilles within the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean Sea.

Guadeloupe is a fully integrated part of the French state and therefore also part of the European Union. Together with Martinique it forms the French Antilles.
