Haiti belongs to the Greater Antilles and shares the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic. To the north borders the Atlantic Ocean, while to the south is the Caribbean Sea. The national territory of Haiti also includes the Île de la Gonâve in the gulf of the same name and the island of La Tortue north of the main island.

Climate: As in the Dominican Republic, i.e. tropical on the coast, much colder in the mountains (some of which are well over 2,000 meters high): temperatures below freezing are also possible there in winter.
